The Green Britain Centre
The Avocor F series proves an instant hit with staff and visitors alike at the Norfolk based eco-centre
“The most intuitive piece of technology I’ve used”
Based in Swaffham, Norfolk, The Green Britain Centre is an initiative of ecotricity and is a popular destination for school and college trips as well as local businesses based in the East of England. The Centre informs visitors about renewable forms of energy, new forms of transport and sustainable food, as well as the offering visitors the chance to climb the only windmill open to the public in the UK.
The Centre started using the Avocor F series interactive display as part of the GBC’s education programme in September, and since the installation the screen has been used by over 50 visiting school groups, including 6 international school delegations, equating to approximately 1600 students, teachers, parents and teaching assistants in the short time the solution has been on-site at the GBC.*
The display was an instant hit with the education community, enabling school groups to collaborate on subjects such as maths and science, making them more visual and engaging on a 4K screen. With a Microsoft Windows 10 operating system and in-built wireless, students can quickly access a host of educational apps such as Fresh Paint straight from the panel. At 65” in size and with 10 points of touch, the display enables multiple students to use the panel at the same time, learning together in a collaborative manner.
The display has also proved extremely popular in the centre’s business zone, enabling businesses to hold more interactive meetings, training sessions and conferences. The integrated Windows 10 OS provides an instantly recognisable interface ensuring that delegates can walk up and use the screen straight away, maximising time spent within the meeting zone.
“(The display was) fantastic and really enhanced our training session. It was very easy to use and great fun for us and the delegates” Norfolk County Council.
The Avocor interactive solution has quickly become an integral part of the Centre, enhancing the delivery of the centre’s important message around the environment and sustainability.
