Avocor, a global leader in display and collaboration technology, is pleased to announce that its E series display technology has been installed at the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indian Reservation in Northeast Minnesota. The installation, which took place across three community facilities at the reservation, was carried out by systems integrator Interactive Digital Solutions (IDS) of Noblesville, Indiana.

The project began when the reservation managed to secure a grant to upgrade its audiovisual technology when the pandemic took hold in Spring 2020. The first displays installed were DTEN, a Zoom-only solution. Once the project gained momentum and took in a dedicated healthcare facility, the Min No Aya Win Human Services Center, Avocor E Series interactive displays were chosen for two reasons; the displays are platform agnostic, not just tied to Zoom, and in addition, they offered a level of ease of use and affordability which made them an attractive option for the customer.

“When the client wanted to move to a platform-agnostic solution, we realised we needed a solution that could deliver the functionality the client was looking for while coming in at the right price point. With the E series, the client got the ‘one touch to join’ functionality they needed, regardless of the virtual platform being used, as well as great support from Avocor, from demo through to installation and handover.”
Zandy Powlesland, Sales Engineer at IDS.

There are three 55” Avocor E series displays installed in the Community Centres and eight in the Human Services Division. The displays are used for a variety of purposes including council meetings, virtual sessions, and one-to-one calls. Joshua King HagE, IT Project Administrator at Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, adds, “The E series has proved to be a good investment for us. The interactivity features have proved useful and being able to join all types of call with one touch means operation is intuitive and simple, making it easy for our staff and residents to use and enjoy the benefits of
the technology.”

The E series interactive displays utilize the very latest optimized touch technology and superior glass technology providing a smooth and extremely accurate, low-latency writing experience and object recognition. The ability to easily switch between using a pen, finger, and palm creates a fluid collaborative environment for users in real-time.
