Question:Windows 10 Configuration GuideAdded July 17, 2019

Answer:

Rename your Avocor Display PC

  • Open the “Start Menu” and select “Settings”
  • Select “System”
  • Scroll down the list on the left and select “About”
  • Select “Rename this PC”
  • Change your PC name to something that is easily recognizable
    • Example: ConfRm110, ExecConfRm, HuddleRm517, etc.
  • Select “Next” to apply the changes
  • Select “Reboot Now” to restart your computer

Enable Windows 10 Auto Logon

  • Press and hold the “Start” icon and select “Run”
  • Type “netplwiz” in the text box and select “Ok”
  • Uncheck the box that says “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer”
  • Press the “Ok” button
  • Enter the User name and Password for the account

On-Screen Keyboard

Activate the On-Screen Keyboard

  • Open the “Start Menu” and select “Settings”
  • Select “Ease of Access”
  • Scroll down the list on the left and select “Keyboard”
  • Toggle the slider under “Use the On-Screen Keyboard” to “On”

Show the Keyboard when selecting Text fields

  • Open the “Start Menu” and select “Settings”
  • Select “Devices”
  • Select “Typing” from the list on the Left
  • Toggle the slider under “Show the touch keyboard when not in tablet mode and there’s no keyboard attached” to “On”

Change Sleep Timer

  • Open the “Start Menu” and select “Settings”
  • Select “System”
  • Select “Power & Sleep” from the list on the left
  • We recommend changing these settings to at least 1 hour each, but preferably longer if your organization supports it. If you would like the display to go to sleep but not the computer, configure the timers accordingly.

Adjusting Windows Display Settings

  • Right-click any empty space on the Desktop
  • Select “Display Settings”
  • Find the “Scale and Layout” section

Change Window Scaling

  • Change Window Scaling to “200%”

Adjust Resolution

  • Change Resolution to maximum Recommended (preferred 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz)
    • If you do not see this as an option, your PC video output may be limiting the maximum resolution. For best results, please utilize DisplayPort v1.3 (or better) or HDMI v2.0 (or better)

Enable Miracast

  • Open the “Start Menu” and select “Settings”
  • Select “System”
  • Select “Projecting to this PC” from the list on the Left
  • Open the drop-down menu below “Some Windows and Android devices can project to this PC when you say it’s ok” and select “Available Everywhere”

….Once these changes have been made, reboot your Computer
