JOB SUMMARY:

Avocor is looking for a Sales Engineer who supports sales productivity, channel technical development and provides critical support in securing the technical close of sales opportunities. The Sales Engineer collaborates with sales, service, engineering, and technical support resources to ensure proposed deals include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs, and are appropriately supported by key customer technical decision-makers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist partners and sales team through preparation and delivery of technical presentations by matching specific client business requirements with effective technical solutions
  • Proactively scopes the solution required to address partner and customer requirements, assesses customers met and unmet needs, and recommends solutions that optimize value for the partner/customer and the firm
  • Provides necessary in-field and webinar training and technical enablement for partner internal teams
  • Secures input from all necessary solution stakeholders within the partner/customer firm. Adapts solutions as necessary to ensure appropriate support
  • Coordinates closely with internal sales, sale support, and service resources to align solution design with customers ’business requirements
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales growth in assigned product lines, market areas, channel, or teams supported
  • Educate partners on product implementation and usage and answers their technical and security questions
  • Create relationships with partner staff and serve as external technical spokesperson
  • Participates in proposal and presentation development; supports Sales with insights for competitive strategy

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in related discipline. Computer Science or Engineering degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales engineering experience and working in collaborative sales environment
  • Background in channel sales engineering related to IT, A/V or Unified Communication space is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, and work effectively under the pressure of time constraints in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows OS administration and troubleshooting, including Device Manager, Software installation, Network settings, Event logs, DXDiag and System Information analysis, Audio and video settings, CPU and memory analysis, and USB devices
  • Experience with Windows PC architecture, including installing Windows and SUB devices, creating and installing image files, updating component drivers and installing third-party software
  • Understanding of Network protocols and experience diagnosing connection-related issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective and dynamic presentation skills
  • Intermediate level knowledge of all Microsoft office programs in Windows, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint required
  • This position requires extensive domestic travel
